We have finally come, now on this most Auspicious of times, the end of the Heavy metal days. It is now that I take all that I have learned and understood and experienced, and put it to a somewhat cohesive form in order to Condense 8 months of songs, albums and metal into a single list. Let us BEGIN!
We’ve come to this. The end. The final 7 albums, recommended as Best of’s in 2018. This week, we’ll be looking at a few different sub-genres, all of which were recommended to me, the same as last month, by my friends. Let’s take a look, shall we!
Back in May, I hit the end of the “best of” list from Banger, which is a pretty solid list, though some of the more esoteric ones just didn’t grab me the same way that I want my metal too. Now, I get to the suggestions from my friends of albums I may have missed. Let’s get to it!
Today, the journey through the metal of 2017 continues! While the last two articles were peppered with sludge and Doom, this week we hit some of the lighter, less suicide-inducing metal genres! come on in and enjoy!
Last year, I took a listen to the best albums of 2016, as nominated by a bunch of people on the internet. Not one place in particular, but just across the internet. This year, I am doing the same, its really the only way I get new metal into my blood, aside from random Youtube recommendations. so, what do we have?
I want to talk a little bit about what my ideas and goals for the coming year from both a personal standpoint and what I am going to write on the site this year. Each year I like to do this so I have a bit of a compass for where I am going to go, as well as put into actual words what I likely would just have floating about in my head.
This post is going to be something that I’ve been working on for a while in my head. It’s going to be hard enough to convey the message that I want, so I’ve shied from actually typing this one up. However, I think now is as good a time as any. Lets get this out of the way.
