In June, I did my July Warmachine article early, as Lock and Load was revealing all sorts of cool goodies, and I wanted to wait until after the themes came out to give them a solid once over on how they are going to affect my list building, if at all. So, with that said, let’s take a look at our new themes!Continue reading
Each of the last 6 years, I’ve been to Lock and Load in Seattle, Privateer Press’s hometown convention, and one that showcases the work they are doing each year, and previews the year to come. This year, I stayed at home. This is the news coming out, and What I think of it going forward.Continue reading
While Normally I’d do battle reports of my latest tournament ( I went 3-2, Huzzah!) This week something interesting and cool dropped hours before writing this article: A new caster. I’ll keep up on the iterations of her prior to posting this on Tuesday, but
At NOVA, I was able to get in 4 games with Scaverous. It’s not as many as I wanted (8) but it was more than I expected as I was in charge of the tournaments. Three were in the team tournament, and two were pick up games that I was able to sneak in. Let’s take a look at them!
I’ve played the Slayer list more than a handful of times now, and I’m starting to form an opinion on it. Let me surprise all of you: It’s not positive.

Well. I finally did It. With nine slayers assembled and painted, I decided to take them with me as my pair for Scaverous in what turned out to be a massive local tournament (32 players with multiple turned away). How did it go? Let’s talk about it!
I’ve been on a Scaverous kick since before Lock and Load, and I’ve really enjoyed my run with him, which has started to make me curious what I would pair him up with when I finally do get to a tournament. I’ve taken a look at a number of lists and am still trying to parse out what covers, and doesn’t cover the Lord Exhumator.
Back in my day, Assassination was not only a viable solution to Warmachine and Hordes, it was one of, if not the, best solutions. Casters were squishy, spells were powerful, and knockdown was absolutely everywhere. This is how I cut my teeth, so Its no wonder that I itch for assassination all the time. Enter, the Scaverous Solution.
