It is both satisfying and appropriate that my final article of 2017, published in the final days of this year, is the conclusion of the Tour de Cryx. I did it! There were a lot of times along the way that I wasn’t sure, because life got in the way, but at the end, I was able to clear enough time to make sure that I was able to make it all the way to the end. So, here we are, the final Caster, the final list, and the final article, of the Tour de Cryx: Skarre 1.
I’ve been playing an awful lot of Coven lately. All of the facets aligned to make me bring them out of retirement in MK 3, and now that I’ve played for longer than a month or so, I’m enjoying how the play and their general prominence in the Cryxian lineup. I’ve only got two tournaments under my belt, but I’m looking to get a few more here over the winter, to which they figure to play a prominent part.
That said, I really need to settle down on a pairing for them. I have a few ideas that I want to try out, one of which, Feedbackapalooza, I’ve already started playing around with. Lets see what my brain is crunching on!
All Dem Jacks
I don’t often see myself this way, but there are times when I cannot help but preying on weaknesses that few exploit. In games, this often comes to a head when I am given a means to attack the foundation of the games system. In MTG, I love, LOVE, land destruction. I call it Red Control, and it gets obnoxious pretty quick. While I am not always successful, I think there is a lot of room to work within it and still have fun. Warmachine 3e gives me a solid foundation to do a very similar tactic and attack the very basic foundation of the game. Warjacks. Cryx has this extremely sweet ability called feedback…
